The villa offers panoramic northern views of Buck Island, and on clear days, the islands of St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda on the distant horizon. To the east, lush green hills stretch up to the Contessa’s Castle. The southern shore with its shades of blue and green fade into endless ocean.

About the Owners: We are a couple residing in the Northeastern United States. We purchased and renovated Villa Carinya in 2013/2014 to serve as a relaxing tropical island get-away and a comfortable home away from home.

Why We Bought This Property: We first visited St. Croix in 2013 and fell in love with the beauty of the island, the quaint historic towns, and the fact that St. Croix is so much less congested and touristy than many other places in the Caribbean. St. Croix is still a place where you can discover your own beach, and spend hours on it without seeing a single person. Yet, beaches with watersports and amenities are only a short drive away. St. Croix has a rich history, and the landscape is dotted with ruins and landmarks waiting to be explored. As avid snorkelers and divers, we were impressed by the diversity of marine life and wide variety of dive sites. From the spectacular snorkeling or wall dives in Cane Bay, ship wrecks at Butler Bay, and exceptional snorkeling and diving at the Frederiksted Pier! St. Croix has so much to offer!

Unlike the sometimes crowded and noisy condo/villa communities, Villa Carinya offers a quiet and private setting without the feeling of being remote.

The large outdoor partly shaded deck is perfect for sunbathing, cooking and entertaining, or just relaxing soaking up the almost constant breeze.

The surrounding area offers miles of back roads for walking/running. While the closest beach, Duggan’s Reef is only minutes down the hill by car. The East End Marine park, a few miles down the road, has some of the best and most secluded beaches on the island with some great snorkeling.

The large outdoor partly shaded deck gives hours of relaxing opportunities. There are great backroads for morning walks, constant trade winds, and so much beauty! Less than a 5 minute drive is Duggan’s Reef, the closest beach, and restaurant/bar. There is access to some of the best and most secluded beaches on the island, plus snorkeling, paddle boarding, kite surfing, golf, Divi Resort and Casino, miniature golf, and casual and fine dining.
